England score Feeder Champs silver!

The England Feeder Team narrowly missed out on a hat trick of gold medals at the 2016 World Feeder Championships in Serbia, finishing in a very creditable second place, just behind a strong Germany team who took home team and individual gold.

Steve Ringer was England’s star performer, with the Guru-backed ace bagging a silver medal to go with the last year’s gold. Team mate Adam Wakelin just missed out on a medal, taking fourth spot.

“Not the result we wanted but double silver isn't to be sniffed at. Well done to Germany who were awesome over the two days. It was a well deserved win,” said Steve, who secured a first-day section win by just 27 grams (about 1oz).

The competition started strongly for the England boys as they finished the first day with a slender two-point lead over Germany and Austria. But the Germans pulled it back on day two and edged the contest, held on the DTD Kanal. Austria took third place. In the individual stakes, Germany’s Jens Dirksen secured a worthy first gold medal with compatriot Felix Scheuermann taking third.

Guru brand manager Adam Rooney said: “Congratulations to Steve and the England Feeder Team on another brilliant performance – they’ve done us and the country proud again.”
