The Big Fish Off comes to ITV1!

Here is your chance to help ensure that angling maintains a slot on mainstream TV, and all you have to do is watch The Big Fish Off!

Series Two has already been a huge success, with some great viewing figures for the five episodes that went out during a prime-time slot on ITV4.

So much so that ITV have decided to repeat the first episode on ITV1, in a slot straight after the News at Ten, with the rest of the series to follow in the coming weeks, and with a chance that the The Big Fish Off 3 will also premiere on the channel next year.

Episode One sees EastEnders star Ricky Groves going up against comedy legend Bobby Davro when they pair up with team captains, and presenters, Ali Hamidi and Dean Macey.

The show is packed full of the usual mixture of fishing, banter and everyone generally having a great time on the bank and showing what fishing should be all about, plus the usual rivalry between the teams to see who will come out on top over the three challenges which make up each episode.

The two teams start off targeting crucians at the Bury Hill Fisheries complex in Surrey, before going afloat in pursuit of bream and tench from punts, and the show culminates with some bigger carp falling to their rods on the main lake.

If this show performs well, then the rest of the series featuring the likes of Mark, DJ Spoony, Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock, Steve Collins, Sally Gunnell, Anna ‘AK’ Kelle, Ricky Rayment and Mitchell Smith, will also make it onto the same ITV1 slot - or if not then they will be shown at a slightly later time - with the teams visiting venues as diverse as urban London reservoirs, the Essex coast and Thailand!

Series One has already been seen by over 6 million people since its launch, and the second series is expected to perform just as well overall.

Episode One will be screened straight after the news on ITV1 on Monday June 6 at 10:40pm until 11:40pm, so make sure you tune in!
