Kevin Green

It’s with great sadness that we learned of the death of respected angling journalist and TV presenter, Kevin Green. Kevin, who was editor of Improve Your Coarse Fishing magazine, was known by many of our team and we know that he was unanimously well liked throughout the fishing industry.

Kevin was a talented journalist who began his career as a reporter on the Angling Times in August 1994, rising through the ranks to become editor of IYCF in 2005. His TV work included Carp Crew, Predators and Angling Times TV on Discovery. He was an engaging ambassador for the sport and his programmes were very popular with anglers from all disciplines and of all levels of experience.
He was also the driving force behind the creation, launch and editing of Angling Times’ UKCarp magazine, and for several years organised the Go Fishing Show at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre. It was at the Go Fishing event where Kevin discovered his passion for coaching others – both young and old – and he worked tirelessly to encourage newcomers and teach fishing skills at many nationwide shows and events. In keeping with his passion for teaching, earlier this year he created and launched a nationwide Fish Camp scheme to inspire and help anglers of all abilities to catch more fish at their favourite fisheries.
Guru’s brand manager Adam Rooney said, “Kev was a top guy who was a fund of interesting stories and his extensive knowledge of fishing made shooting features a pleasure and something that I looked forward to each month. I feel very privileged to have spent time in Kev’s company and he will be sorely missed. On behalf of all at Guru I would like to pass on our condolences to his family and close friends at this difficult time.”

Kevin leaves a wife, Joanne, and two children.
