WILLIAMS JOINS THE GURU RANKS!

Tackle Guru are excited to introduce a new member to the growing team of consultants in the shape of all-round matchman, Mikey Williams!

The 31-year-old Carmarthen South Wales based man represented Wales at Junior level, and has progressed through the ranks of some of the best fishing teams in the UK. From the age of 16 Mikey has been a key member of the renowned Thatchers squad in the South West, before more recently joining Daiwa Dorking. He’s a regular in the frame in White Acres festivals, and has two Parkdean Masters qualifications under his belt. Last year he also won the Larford Silverfish Festival.

Brand Manager, Adam Rooney, had a beaming smile when he finally released the information on the deal, and said:

“It’s a pleasure to have Mikey on board as a Guru! Not only is he a fantastic all-round angler, he puts incredible amounts of effort into his fishing, and is constantly striving to improve, travelling the country to fish big and competitive events.

“Mikey is an incredibly consistent angler at all kinds of fishing, and has a great attitude towards the sport. I love the fact that he competes on a range of venues, and he’s recently joined the powerful Daiwa Dorking squad which is a great achievement reflects his ability. He’s very approachable and a great laugh, if ever you’ve been out on the bank or on a festival with him, he’ll probably have ended up nattering to you at some point! Myself and the team at Guru are looking forward to supporting him with his angling, and by the same token we’re certain he’ll contribute his ideas and efforts back to us! He’s already committed to this year’s Match Academy – exciting times!”

As you may expect, Mikey was equally ecstatic with the news, and told us:

“I’m simply overwhelmed to be on board with Tackle Guru. I’ve used a lot of Guru gear for a long time, and to be honest I never thought that such an incredible opportunity to join the Guru team would ever come about!

“When I got the phone call from Adam about the deal, it felt amazing. I have spend a lot of time and money travelling the country, because I love competing and want to learn as much as possible to improve my fishing further and win bigger events. It really felt like my efforts have been worthwhile, and it’s an honor to get support from a company like Guru.

“Hopefully, I’ll be allowed in front of the cameras and be able to share some of my experiences to help other anglers! It’s super exciting to be part of such a forward-thinking company, with a stable of consultants that are second to none! If you’re out on the bank, please pop over any say hello!”
