New Guru team members announced!

January sees two talented young match anglers join the Guru team – Ben Hagg and Sam Collett - so we sent the pair a series of questions to get to know them and their angling...

NAME: Ben Hagg
AGE: 24
OCCUPATION: Kitchen/bathroom fitter.
HOME TOWN: Shepton Mallet, Somerset.
FAVOURITE VENUE: Stafford Moor.
FAVOURITE METHOD: Long pole shallow/edge fishing.
FAVIURITE SPECIES: Carp and F1s.
FAVOURITE ITEM OF TACKLE: Daiwa Air pole.
HERO MATCH ANGLER: Steve Ringer.
BEST MATCH RESULT: Individually winning 100-peg Viaduct winter league 2014-2015 and winning Stafford Moor Fish O Mania qualifier 2015.
FUTURE MATCH PLANS: carry on competing at a high level and hopefully get myself into a major final in the coming years!

FAVOURITE VENUE: White Acres or Ferry Meadows.
FAVOURITE METHOD: Any.
FAVOURITE SPECIES: Carp, bream or roach.
HERO MATCH ANGLER: Steve Ringer.
FAVOURITE ITEM OF TACKLE: Hybrid feeders.
BEST MATCH RESULT: Winning junior Fish O Mania.
FUTURE MATCH PLANS: To hopefully win a major final like adult Fish O Mania or the Maver Match This. Also, to win a White acres festival.

“I’m absolutely delighted to be asked to join the Guru team!” said Sam, who at just 17 is the youngest member of the Guru team.
