Fishing to Beat Cancer Sooner

Cast for Life is back again for 2014! Cancer Research UK and Guru are calling on the anglers of the UK to get CAUGHT up in the action. Cast for Life is a fantastic opportunity for the UK's anglers to help us beat cancer sooner. Over the last few years, hundreds of anglers from all over the UK have helped Cast for Life raise over an incredible £25,000. This year, with your support, we’d like to smash that amount.

How do you get involved in this fantastic cause I hear you say? It could not be easier! We want as many anglers as possible to organiser their own Cast for Life fundraising fishing tournament. As an added incentive Guru will donating 40 goodie bags each totalling £250 (RRP) to the first 40 tournaments that are organised to beat Cancer.

Claire Marmion, Cancer Research UK’s Local Fundraising Manager for South Essex, said: “This is a fantastic campaign and I urge all the anglers of the UK to get involved and help us raise money for our life saving research. £52,000 could help to cover the cost of supporting 28 men through a prostate cancer trial, aiming to improve treatment for the disease. We are also delighted to be working in partnership with top tackle companies Korda and Guru on Cast for Life and their support is very much appreciated. Cancer Research UK has made enormous progress in the fight against cancer. However, we have only been able to do this thanks to the dedication and commitment of our volunteers and supporters without whom we would not be able to fund outstanding scientists, doctors and nurses.”
