Winter Blues - Dean Macey

No one loves their winter fishing more than our resident all-round angler, Dean Macey.

After a few biteless sessions, he was determined to turn things around. Dean is not a man to lay down and accept defeat, so he got himself back together and bounced back in style. The result was the capture of a wonderful, specimen chub, that put a smile on his face. “It’s always nice to fight back after the blues and get rewarded.” Said Dean.

In the lead-up to the capture Dean roved around after dark, desperately trying to find a swim that wasn't full of crayfish and boasted a likely looking area. Settling into the very last swim before arriving back at the car park, he positioned a glugged Mainline Hybrid boilie close to some bushes on the far bank. He knew it wasn’t going to take long and just ten minutes passed before his tip slammed round like a barbel bite!

The fish fought hard under the rod tip but steady pressure kept him heading back upstream. Eventually the fish gave up and Dean wasted no time in shipping the net out and claiming his prize.

He stayed on for another hour but no more fish came his way; no doubt he’ll be back for more in the near future.

Well done Deano, keep up the good work.
