Steve Ringer Crowned Angler Of The Year
Our very own Steve Ringer has scooped a prestigious end-of-year award. He was voted Angler Of The Year by Angling Times readers and users of the online forum Maggot Drowners. Steve took the gong ahead of six other top anglers, from all angling disciplines. Steve has had a great 2011, winning two Whiteacres festivals and landing the silver medal in the Feeder World Championships in Italy.
He told us, “The big thing for me is that the award was voted for by other anglers, rather than a panel. I was surprised to win, because match fishing is relatively small discipline when compared to other parts of the game. It’s nice to be held in esteem by anglers from all across the various categories of the sport.”
Congratulations from all at Guru Steve, and here’s to an even better year in 2012 – if that’s possible!
